Lymphatic Drainage

THE PROBLEM:  The most underrated part of the circulatory system in the human body is the Lymphatic System.  The Lymphatic System is the body's primary immune defense and waste elimination system, moving fluid between the cells and tissues and distributing the infection fighting and scavenging cells of the body.  The human body contains about 50% more lymphatic fluid than blood and contains over 600 collection sites called lymph nodes.  These nodes are formed at the junction sites of the lymph vessel network.  Most chronic disease problems occur at the junction of lymph vessels called lymph nodes.

In men, the inguinal nodes, located in the crease of the groin, are the primary channels for release of accumulated lymph from the prostate.  In women, the axillary nodes, located in the armpit, are the primary channels for releasing accumulated lymph from the breasts.  Sadly, many health-care practitioners rarely consider the critical role lymph plays in preventing sickness and keeping us healthy.  Lymph vessels can become clogged with protein deposits leading to sluggish flow (congestion) and impaired function.

The causes of lymphatic congestion can be:

  • Injuries and surgery,
  • Inactivity and poor diet,
  • Emotional and/or mental stress,
  • Environmental toxins,
  • Hormone imbalances,
  • The normal aging process,
  • And even, tight fitting clothing.

When this state occurs the blockages cause a backup in the flow of lymphatic fluid.  Consequently, toxic waste matter cannot effectively be released from the body, nor can the immune system function at optimum performance.  The result is a wide range of dysfunctions, "symptoms" and/or diseases such as:

  • Colds, flu and/or sinus problems,
  • Edema (swelling),
  • Fibrocystic and tender breasts,
  • Cellulite,
  • Enlarged prostate,
  • And cancer and/or heart disease.

Even in cases of severe impairment, the good news is;

LYMPHATIC HEALTH CAN BE RESTORED!

THE SOLUTION:  Traditional methods of manual lymphatic stimulation have proven to have some success, but there is a better way.  An electronic tool called the LYMPHSTAR PRO® combined with a unique manual method called the CARTER TECHNIQUE for LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE is designed to help therapists get better results in less time with less stress.

In our experience, the various manual methods available do a reasonable-to-good job of opening the surface lymphatics.  However, the trade-off is that the deeper lymphatic channels then become more stressed and engorged with the additional lymph fluid forced into that area.  This can be quite detrimental to the improvement we are trying to bring about.

Free flowing lymph is what the body wants and needs.

Of particular concern to lymph flow are the Thoracic Duct and the Cisterna Chili, which lie underneath the sternum, and are not in a position to be manually manipulated.  However, the electronic wave of the LYMPHSTAR PRO® is able to reach and help decongest these areas.

A considerable concern for our clients is the issue of finding a tender "spot" or lymph node in the chest or underarm area.  When a lymph node is hard or sore, it is engaged in removing toxins or debris from the lymphatic channel so the channel can return to its regular job of transporting oxygen, nutrition, and waste to their proper sites.

The channel can only do its job if it isn't blocked!

The LYMPHSTAR PRO® combined with the CARTER TECHNIQUE is able to safely remove blockages so that the nodes are no longer painful.  This innovative technique is a simple but effective way to couple the sophisticated technology of the LYMPHSTAR PRO® with manual therapy to provide measurable results.

Not to be overlooked is the valuable asset the LYMPHSTAR PRO® can be in neuro-muscular modalities.  The simple but effective use of the LYMPHSTAR PRO® in stressed or injured muscles cases is able to reduce the danger of secondary injury by excess lymph build-up.  It keeps fluids moving rather than stagnating.  Thus, it reduces swelling and edema, (think post-surgical) which can facilitate healing and the transportation of wastes from the trauma site.  This promotes healing.

We invite you to discover the powerful effects of Lymphatic Decongestive Therapy for enhanced relaxation and detoxification.
